Enhancing Operations at Sapperton Bottle Depot with RecycloRobo's Auditable Densifiers
Sapperton Return-It Bottle Depot, located in the heart of New Westminster, BC, is a state-of-the-art recycling facility dedicated to promoting environmental sustainability. Known for its commitment to efficient recycling processes and customer service, the depot plays a crucial role in the community’s recycling efforts, handling a wide variety of recyclable materials with precision and care.
The Challenges Faced
Space Constraints and Operational Inefficiencies:
- Limited Space: Confined operating areas making bottle storage overwhelming.
- Storage Issues: Bottles stored in unstable mega-bags stacked up to three stories high, posing significant safety risks.
Safety Concerns:
- Stacked Mega Bags: Unstable mega-bags full of empty cans may fall on employees, increasing the risk of accidents.
This is a 8,000 SFT warehouse completely filled up by stacked bags of empty cans.
RecycloRobo’s Solution
This is the densified volume of all those empty beverage cans shown in the previous image:
Space Optimization:
- Auditable Densifiers: Compress returned cans into biscuits, saving up to 90% of storage space.
- Neat Stacking: Densified cans can be neatly stacked on pallets, eliminating the need for stacking multiple bags.
Enhanced Safety:
- Elimination of Unstable Bags: Removing the need for high-stacked mega-bags reduces the risk of falling objects and enhances employee safety.
